Engine conversions
For: Mark 2 GTi,
Jetta GTi, Cabriolet GTi, Passat GT, Scirocco GTX
8V PLUS-PAC
conversion.
The fundamental engine conversion
of the range for 8-valve models which nevertheless gives
a substantial 20% increase in power output, mainly affecting
the top-end performance.
The conversion comprises:
- Gasflowed cylinder head,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- 40mm inlet valves with improved under-head
profiles,
- 35mm exhaust valves with improved
under-head profiles,
- Selected valve springs,
- Remapped electronic control unit
(E.C.U.) on vehicles fitted with electronic engine management.
8V RE1900
conversion.
The RE1900 gives an exhilarating
27% increase in power over the standard 8-valve engine
and 30% more torque, making it an extremely attractive
conversion.
The conversion comprises:
- Cylinder block bored and plateau
honed to 83mm,
- Alloy autothermic pistons,
- Gasflowed cylinder head,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- Sports camshaft (276 degree period),
- Selected valve springs,
- Remapped electronic control unit
(E.C.U.) when applicable.
8V RE2000
conversion.
The RE2000, producing no less than
36% more power than the standard unit, is definitely a
conversion for those drivers who do not want to spend
too much of their time changing gear!
The conversion comprises:
- Steel crankshaft of 92.8mm stroke,
- Cylinder block bored to 82.5mm,
- Lead-Indium heavy duty crankshaft
bearings,
- Alloy autothermic pistons,
- Gasflowed cylinder head with enlarged
port diameters,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- 40mm inlet valves,
- 35mm exhaust valves,
- Selected valve springs,
- Sports camshaft (276 degree period),
- Remapped electronic control unit
(E.C.U.) when applicable,
- Modified injection system (K and
KE Jetronic vehicles only).
16V PLUS-PAC
conversion.
This low cost conversion is designed
to improve the top end performance of the 16-valve engines
by more than 10% and is mainly for the benefit of the
driver who does a lot of high speed motorway driving and
enjoys frequent use of the gearbox.
The conversion comprises:
- Gasflowed cylinder head,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- Narrowed valve seats,
- Polished valves,
- Selected valve springs,
- Optimised ignition timing and fuelling.
16V
RE1900 conversion.
The RE1900-16V conversion provides
enormous gains in low speed torque as well as an increase
in top-end performance giving it a broader appeal than
the PLUS-PAC.
The conversion comprises:
- Cylinder block bored and plateau
honed to 83.5mm,
- Alloy pistons with valve clearance
cut-outs,
- Gasflowed cylinder head,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- Selected valve springs,
- Modified injection system.
16V
RE2000 conversion.
This is the top of the range MK2 16V conversion for all-out
performance! Power is increased to give a top speed
of 133mph with acceleration to match.
The conversion comprises:
- Steel crankshaft of 92.8mm stroke,
- Cylinder block specially machined
with 82.5mm bore,
- Lead-Indium heavy duty crankshaft
bearings,
- Alloy pistons with valve clearance
cut-outs,
- Gasflowed cylinder head,
- Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve
throats,
- Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
- Selected valve springs,
- Modified injection system.

Camshafts.
As a supplement to all our 16V conversions these will
add approximately 15% to our quoted power figures.
